The MSA area has nearly two million residents. Although settled since the early 1800s the city of Las Vegas was formed in 1911. Las Vegas is located within Clark County, Nevada at an elevation or around 2,000 feet. It is within the Pacific Standard Time Zone and the Las Vegas area code is 702. Las Vegas weather is warm with average winter low temperatures of 37 and summer highs in the low 100s. Precipitation averages less than half an inch per month of rain. Las Vegas things to do include the Las Vegas Zoo, Floyd Lamb State Park, and the Las Vegas Springs Preserve. Las Vegas events and festivals include Helldorado Days.
