The total area of the land in Westchester County is 432.82 square miles. There are on average 2,132 people living within each square mile of the county. In 2000 there were 923,459 people living in the county within 337,142 households (averaging 2.67 people in each household) but by 2009 the population had increased to 955,962 with an estimated 3.5% change.

The average income per person in 1999 for Westchester County, NY was $36,726. By 2007 the income was $74,878. The average income in each household was $79,195 in 2008. The percentage of Westchester County residents living in poverty in 2008 was 8.4%. The total personal income for the county in 2007 was $71,102 (in millions of dollars). The average per job earnings was $68,064 in 2007.
