The total area of the land in Orange County is 907.45 square miles. There are on average 988.3 people living within each square mile of the county. In 2000 there were 896,344 people living in the county within 336,286 households (averaging 2.61 people in each household) but by 2009 the population had increased to 1,086,480 with an estimated 21.2% change.
